Forsgren Fisher paralegal Julie Herl named Unsung Legal Hero

We are proud to celebrate Julie Herl, a cornerstone of our Kansas City office and indispensable member of our team, for being recognized as a 2025 Unsung Legal Hero by Missouri Lawyers Media.

Unsung Legal Heroes are annually recognized in several states to honor the most dedicated and skilled law-firm employees who work outside the spotlight. The award celebrates legal-support professionals—including paralegals, legal assistants, firm administrators, court clerks, and other staff—whose behind-the-scenes contributions are vital to the success of their organizations but often go publicly unrecognized. Nominees are put forward by peers and selected for their exceptional dedication, reliability, and impact in the legal field.

“When we saw that this award recognizes firm employees who consistently go above and beyond their written job descriptions, we immediately thought of Julie. She routinely works on many details of our cases and of her jobs within the firm, to anticipate and iron out every possible problem. Her efficiency is really uncanny. Our clients benefit from her thoroughness in ways that they might not ever get to see. And our firm has excelled thanks in many ways to Julie’s great work,” said firm partner Andy DeMarea.

Julie’s career spans decades of legal service, and she continues to raise the bar—most recently by earning her Certified Paralegal credential from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). She remains a constant source of precision, professionalism, and poise for colleagues and clients alike. She is known not only for her unmatched attention to detail and organizational skill, but also for her humility, warmth, and quiet strength.
