DeMarea named to POWER list for construction law
Forsgren Fisher is proud to announce that Andy DeMarea has been named by Missouri Lawyers Weekly to the POWER List of construction attorneys. Compiled after a rigorous investigative process that included both interviews and independent research into verdicts and settlements, the POWER List recognizes the top 30 attorneys in the state with deep experience representing general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, and property owners in matters ranging from contract negotiations to litigation about defective workmanship. As Missouri Lawyers Weekly notes, sometimes a “successful construction project needs more than just people who can swing a hammer or operate a crane. It also needs a good lawyer or two.”
Construction law has been an area of emphasis for DeMarea throughout his 30-year career. An engineer by training, DeMarea attributes his success in construction law to the fact that he can and does work to understand the technical details underlying construction disputes. Recognizing that litigation can be expensive—and construction litigation especially so—DeMarea also makes a point of devising creative fee structures, including contingency-fee and other custom-fee arrangements, that make pursuing claims feasible for Forsgren Fisher’s clients.
“Andy has led our construction practice since we opened our doors more than three years ago,” said managing partner Bob Gilbertson. “His facility with both technical minutiae and human emotion in this complex area of law is impressive. We are thrilled that Missouri Lawyers Weekly has recognized Andy as part of the elite POWER List for construction law.”
