As has happened around this time of year for the past 20+ years, the new Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers list is out and includes Kansas City legal powerhouse Andy DeMarea.  Again and again, DeMarea’s peers have placed him among the 5% of top lawyers in the area—and for good reason.  He draws high praise from those in the construction world for his sure hand, wise counsel, and dogged pursuit of justice in construction disputes, from everyday people who have been injured or lost loved ones because of someone else’s negligence or deprivations of their civil rights, and from executives and in-house counsel at major corporations for his business-litigation acumen.  “Andy has a wonderful ability to combine tenacious representation and advocacy with a generous spirit that draws friends and clients from all walks of life,” said Forsgren Fisher’s managing partner, Bob Gilbertson.  “Our clients get the great benefit of the respect and support he has earned in the legal and business community.”

Practicing alongside DeMarea and earning his third straight selection as a Rising Star is Greg Frias, who joined the firm in early 2025 after completing a rewarding judicial clerkship and handling civil litigation in private practice for four years.  “Greg’s talents fit our firm perfectly,” said DeMarea.  “He cares about our clients, is meticulous about his work, and stands up strong in the courtroom,” DeMarea added.  Frias’ practice includes construction and business litigation, as well as work on behalf of individuals who have been injured or lost family members due to negligence or deprivations of their civil rights.

Gilbertson joins DeMarea and Frias as a Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer.  A trial lawyer, he has been a Minnesota Super Lawyer for many years, handling primarily business, intellectual-property, insurance, and products-liability cases, among others.  A Kansas City native, he began practicing more regularly in Missouri and Kansas upon our firm’s launch in 2021.  This is his second year on the Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers list.
